Incubator is a web application that helps PC builders locate the best components for their custom-built systems.

Every day, the site downloads data on the most popular items from Newegg.com, a popular PC parts retailer. Site users are then presented with the top 3 choices in each component category. Users select the pieces they want, and are instantly given an updated price list and total. Users can also view price history data on any item, helping them buy at the right time.

The site is not a comprehensive shopping tool; it focuses on helping users find components in the ’sweet spot’–parts that offer the best combination of quality and affordability. The theory is that the most-purchased items are typically the best option for the average custom PC builder.
