I learned php first because I could easily throw up a server with an old computer and have php and mysql ready to go for free. The best thing that I'm learning is once you really understand one language it's fairly easy to move to another one, it's just learning some new syntax. Since learning PHP I have downloaded all the Microsoft development stuff from MSDN and I'm messing around with it now, and I'm liking it. Awesome post!
